1. Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron: The Maritime Academy of Nigeria, formerly known as the nautical college of Nigeria was established in 1979 by the federal Executive Council No.EC. (77)172. The Academy graduated its first batch of cadets in 1983. In 1988, the scope of the college was upgraded by the promulgation decree of 1988 with a statutory mandate to train all levels and categories of personnel required for the effective and efficient operations of the Maritime Industry.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
For National Diploma Programme (ND):

• Candidates seeking admission to the institution must have a functional Phone number and electronic mail address.
• Candidates must pass Medical Examination and Physical fitness before being considered for admission.
• Candidates are subjected to Screening Exercise/Aptitude Test.
• Candidates aspiring for Marine Engineering/ Electrical-Electronics must possess five(5) credit passes at O/level (GCE, NECO, WAEC, NABTEB) in not more than two sittings.
• The subject required are English language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing or any other related science subject. The JAMB subject combination includes English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or any other related science subject.
• Age limit should not be more than 21 years old at the time of admission and shall be single and remain single throughout the duration of the programme.

For Higher National Diploma Programme (HND) 2 Years

• Must possess a senior secondary school certificate or its equivalent with at least Five credit passes in subject which include; Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry , Technical Drawing and/or any other related science subjects obtained in Not more than two sittings.
• Must possess a National Diploma in Marine Engineering with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other Accredited Institution listed with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
• Must possess a JAMB Registration number.
• Must have completed a minimum of one year Post-ND industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of one year cognate work experience in a relevant organization.
• Candidates with PASS at National Diploma level from Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution must have completed a minimum of two years post-ND industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of two years cognate work experience in a relevant organization.

2. River State University of Science and Technology (RSUT). Visit

4. Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun(FUPRE). Visit
5. Niger Delta University Yenagoa (NDU). Visit

The above named universities have slight difference from Maritime Academy of Nigeria because they are Universities while MAN ORON is a diploma certifying institution.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR UNIVERSITIES

• Admission through UTME SC/GCE ‘0’ Level credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language, Physics, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Further(addition) Mathematics.
  1. UTME scores of at least 180 and above (subject to change).
  2. In addition to the above, it is advised that candidates should make the institution the first choice.
  3. For some selection, the candidate’s average scores from the UTME and post UTME screening test may be used.

• Admission by direct entry :

To Year II-

1. At least two ‘A’ level passes at GCE or its equivalent including physics and mathematics. Candidates must also have three (3) Credit level passes at SC/GCE ‘)” level including English language and chemistry.
2. Be Holders of OND/ND with upper credit in the relevant discipline, provided that such candidates also satisfy the requirements for admission through UTME.

To Year III–

1. HND in the relevant discipline provided such candidates also satisfy the requirements for admission through UTME.
2. An acceptable score in the Direct Entry Screening Exercise.
