It has been reported that thirteen sailors had been kidnapped from an oil/chemical tanker “Curacao Trader” 210 miles off the coast of Benin on the 17th of July of 2020.
The Russian embassy tweeted earlier today that Seven Sailors of Russian nationality had been kidnapped off the coast of Benin in the Gulf of Guinea.
The Seven Russians were among 13 crew members abducted by pirates from the ship “Curacao Trader” 210 miles off the coast of Benin on the 17th of July of 2020.
The activities of pirates in the Gulf of Guinea has increased geometrically in recent months.
Nine Nigerian nationals had been abducted earlier in the month by pirates from an oil production vessel off the coast of Nigeria.
