SERVICING OF A FUEL OIL PURIFIER

(A)STOPPING PROCEDURE FOR A FUEL OIL SEPARATOR/PURIFIER

1. Fill the separator with sealing water by opening the feed water inlet valve.
2. Feed sealing water until water flows out through the water outlet then close the feed valve.
3. Turn off the oil feed motor.
4. Close the feed motor tank suction valve.
5. Stop the separator.
6. Pull the brake.

The high kinetic energy generated from the high speed Revolution of the separator per minute (RPM) makes the separator bowl and disc stack to continue spinning for minutes even after the separator motor has been switched off. Pulling the brake fasten the stop time for the separator.
Wait for 3-4 minutes until the separator comes to a standstill.
Look through the slot in the frame hood by removing the safety device to see if the bowl has come to a complete standstill.

PRECAUTION: Make sure the rotating parts are no longer in motion before working on the Purifier.
