The NNPC and First E&P welcomes it’s FPSO “Abigail-Joseph” to Nigeria

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and FIRST Exploration & Petroleum Development Company Limited (FIRST E&P) has announced the arrival of the Abigail-Joseph Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) to it’s country of operation- Nigeria.

The FPSO “Abigail-Joseph” had set sail from Singapore to the Anyala & Madu fields in Block OML 83 & 85, offshore Nigeria. It was expected to reach Nigeria by early May and Start-up production by the end of May 2020. But due to the pandameic- COVID19, contingency plans were made.

The FPSO is Chartered by First Exploration and Petroleum Development Co. Ltd. on a firm seven-year contract with options to extend.

The FPSO will be deployed at the Anyala-Madu field as earlier stated.

The conversion of the vessel carried out in Keppel Benoi Shipyard Singapore, was completed within 7-months.

This is believed to be the world’s fastest delivery of a brownfield FPSO modification and upgrading project.

FPSO Abigail-Joseph is a redeployment of one of Yinson’s existing vessels, FPSO Allan, which had previously operated for nearly 10 years in the Olowi Field in Gabon.

The FPSO “Abigail-Joseph” is Yinson’s second vessel to operate in Nigerian waters, with the first being FPSO Adoon which is currently operating in Block OML 123.

A team of young Nigerian professionals were part of the successful execution works in the Keppel Shipyard and they will form an integral part of the FPSO operations team in the production phase.

Particulars: The processing and storage capacities include Oil Processing of 50,000 barrels of oil per day, Produced Water Treatment of 20,000 barrels of water per day, Gas Handling of 39 million standard cubic feet per day and Cargo storage capacity of 700,000 barrels.

The FPSO will be operated on behalf of FIRST E&P by YINSON.
