The tales of the sea:BOARDING

After several days without good food, I realized that the human body was designed by God to survive even the harshest of conditions. I wasn’t happy been here but after searching for a job for years, what would a little patience cost me?

This New Year was going to be a great one. It’s looking all rosy and pleasant but I felt a cloud of darkness. “Come of it” I said to myself, when did I even become a clergyman? The job offer had come days after I rejected two offers. It didn’t come as a surprise though because I had passed both the examinations and interview. It was time to enter another phase of life.

I had felt I made a right choice. I began having doubts, who would leave his/her staff in a hotel without making provisions for food?

I stared at my damaged phone and also at my account balance. I felt like I was drowning.

The ship I was meant to board hadn’t arrived at port yet. I wasn’t at ease and I felt disgust for whosoever would be captaining such a vessel.

Two days more and I was laying helplessly on the sofa. The guest house cleaner barged into my room. She had come to notify me that my ship had arrived and was berthed at the waterside jetty. Her voice was so comforting. I slapped myself to reality. This wasn’t why I was here.

I hung my bag across my back and made way to the door. I said my goodbyes.

She was an epitome of beauty, a lady in her prime. I smiled at the sight of her magnificence. I couldn’t believe my eyes, my heart raced as I got on top her. I felt a burning sensation, it was pleasurable and relieving. She wasn’t like the others, she looked strong and elegant. I didn’t even get to know her name.

At that moment, my eye caught sight of an inscription on her right side. It was like a tattoo crested on her breast plates.

MV ALPHA was her name. She is a ship. Don’t get distracted, bring your minds back to the matter at hand.
