HOW TO VERIFY A SAILOR’S MEDICAL CERTIFICATE OF FITNESS

The seafarers Medical Certificate of fitness is one of the basic certification and documentation needed to board a vessel.

In this article, the verification process for a sailor with Nigerian Medical Certification will be discussed.

The integrity of an eligibly selected sailor’s health has to be ascertained before he/she goes onboard a vessel.

VERIFYING A SEAFARER’S MEDICAL CERTIFICATE OF FITNESS

To Verify the Document;

1. Obtain the Certificate Number of the Medical Certification.

2. Obtain the First and Last Name of the Candidate under Investigation.

3. Go to the Verification Portal. To view, click here.

4. Input the Certificate Number of the seafarer’s Medical Certificate of Fitness.

5. Download the Attachment.

NOTE: It is regarded a fraudulent act to possess an illicit and fake Medical Certificate of Fitness.

Such Fraudsters should be handed over to the Authorities or NIMASA.

Although, a few people are unaware of the integrity of their Medical certificate of Fitness.
